It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a smart wearable device from Sony’s house. The last wearable device that the company has launched was in 2014, which was an Android Wear ( Now WearOS ) smartwatch. Sony was not keen to launch any smartwatch after that launch. But today, the company has started the pre-order for their upcoming smart wearable device. The device is the smart wrist wrap. It’s a hybrid smartwatch named as “Sony Wena Straps” which are the intelligent wearables from the company. They are meant to provide minimal accessibility than the full-fledged smartwatch.
The Hybrid Sony Wena Straps is a smartwatch that comes with minimal features. The Wena Straps provide features like the Time, Contactless Payments, and the basic fitness tracking for those who are fitness conscious. The devices do provide a touch-screen display to check the time and also check the notifications received on your smartphone. This smartwatch provides minimal options for those who are not much sure about spending money on a full-fledged smartwatch from the other companies like Fossil or Apple.
Sony has provided two design variations for the Wena Straps. For the fitness freaks, the Wena Wrist Active is the model which comes with the silicone strip. The silicone strips stay firm on your wrist while you are exercising. Another one is for the Premium users named as Wena Wrist Pro. This version comes with the Metal wrist that is comfortable and looks premium at first glance. Sony has started the pre-order of this device in the United Kingdom from today. But, the company has not announced the exact release date of these devices in the markets. Also, we are unsure about the debut of this devices in International markets like the United States of America, Russia, the European Union, and Asian countries.
